  • To promote and develop sound management principles as applied to the Indian environment.
  • To initiate and stimulate management thinking leading to excellence in management practices. This is achieved primarily through organizing focused training programs/ lectures, discussion meetings where experiences are shared, sponsoring specific research projects, forming study-groups and arranging goal directed conferences.
  • To establish a fruitful liaison for its members with the various management institutions, both in India and abroad.
  • To play a pivotal role in continuing improvements in Management learning by associating as an important member among leading management learning institutions.

Like any democratic and autonomous institution, we are governed by our constitution. We have an electoral system, which provides for a President assisted by a Managing committee, all elected from our membership.

Since members so elected render voluntary service, to make for thoroughly professional body we have a full fledged office with permanent staff, which executes the decisions of the committee.

As our activities have grown, the work of the Managing Committee has further subdivided by the formation of several sub committees such as:

  • Programme Committee
  • Training & Development Committee
  • CEO’s Forum
  • IT Committee
  • Membership Development Committee
  • Centre for Management Education
  • Finance Committee
  • Annual Convention Committee
  • Publicity & PR Committee
  • Infrastructure and Estate

BMA celebrates “Management Week” every year and the week concludes with an annual get-together. BMA also instituted several awards to recognize individuals and corporations distinguishing themselves in several areas of management.

The present membership of BMA is a strong 400 institutional members and around 2000 individual members. They represent a select band of people and companies/organisations from all disciplines.
